Abstract
The article deals with the approaches to implementing innovative activities of special subject instructors in vocational schools specializing in construction. The essence of the concepts "innovation", "innovative activities" is substantiated. The content of motivational, cognitive, creative and reflective components of special subject instructors’ preparedness for innovative activities and the development of analytical, creative and critical thinking was determined; the main types of innovations that contribute to the development of their professional culture were determined. Some kinds of innovations were highlighted according to their specifics: technological, methodological, organizational and social. The features that characterize the innovative teacher personality were identified: the openness to innovation, the ability to determine the existence of different points of view without fear of changing their own vision of the world, awareness of the necessity of innovative activities, positive perception of best practices, readiness to overcome creative setbacks. The nature of pedagogical environment and the conditions for creating innovative environment in vocational schools ensuring the development of innovative activity of instructors are substantiated. The system of evaluation criteria of innovative orientation of special subject instructors is specified.
