Abstract
The author shows that the key line of personal development is determined by the motif as the main «theme» of the life, which produces the basis for creating the life story by means of linking the principal events of the person’s life into an orderly sequence. The motif is formed through culture, education,instruction, reading, and all other external forces that are converted into the personal system of senses, thus creating the keynote of the person’s life story. Basic functions of the motif are elicited, which support regulating of the personal experience.
