Abstract
In teaching aids covered topical problem of modern special education, namely the use of methods-centered teaching children with mental retardation. Presented by psychological and pedagogical methods prerequisites student-centered learning their native language primary pupils with mental retardation, the results of the pilot study features mastery of knowledge on the subject "Ukrainian language". Conceptual approaches to teaching primary school pupils with mental retardation is defined orientation to personality-oriented education and development of motivational learning component. Deals with the general characteristics of teaching methods, teaching psychological analysis of the structure of teaching methods in schools, impact analysis methods of language teaching in educational activities of students with mental retardation and learning situation analysis as the basis and mechanism of realization of personality oriented Ukrainian language lessons in elementary school intensive pedagogical correction.
