Abstract
The article proves that technical vocational institutions directors as personalities and specialists are in unity, have direct impact on each other, and the quality and efficiency of their professional development is caused by their immediate personality development. It analyzes professional development of the technical vocational institutions directors in the informational and analytical activity, and characterizes basic factors of the professional development. It also focuses on the leading properties, features and manifestations of the director’s personality. The article characterizes main methodological approaches to the substantiation of the professional development of the technical vocational institutions directors. It prioritizes the subject and activity approach which takes into account demands of the majority of other approaches (personality, activity, systematic, subject) and methodological principles (unity of consciousness and behavior, personality and activity etc.) It presents the main stages of professional development of the technical vocational institutions directors and briefly sets out its contents. It defines that such development is personally professional in nature. It presents the personality development process in the professional environment, oriented at the full updating of its spiritual, cognitive, professional and management potentials as the management actor and at the achievement of the essential results in it. It substantiates the concept of “professional development” to the technical vocational institutions director’s personality.
