Abstract
The author considers the psychological and pedagogical foundations of personal growth of adult learners, reveals stages of personal growth, analyzes the basic requirements for personal growth of adult learners. Stresses that personal development is impossible without the development of reflection, as an adult learner is constantly in a state of self-knowledge. Emphasising the use of active learning methods as they have great influence on the learning of information and development of personal qualities, orientation of the educational process to promote self-development of adult learners.
