Abstract
The article highlights some aspects of the modular design of the textbook in the system of competence-oriented educational environment of the school. Didactic peculiarities of its structure and functions as a basic element of the educational component of the educational environment had been analyzed. Harmonious purposeful development of personality on the basis of school subject, a key competence of a pupils are the priority focus of designing and building competence-oriented educational environment of the institution. A distinctive feature of the textbook in the system of competence-oriented learning environment is to build it in a modular fashion. Modeling of the structure and content of the module it is advisable to start with the creation of an effective-target model study of the topic. This shaped model through the system of links will encourage greater interaction of the textbook the elements of the educational-methodical complex and just educational environment.
