Abstract
The article analyzed psychological approaches to the study of values. There is no single point of view regarding this topic. Some authors approach the problem analysis based on the features of the interaction of personality and social environment, and the features of mastering values in the process of ontogenetic development, correlating the process of mastering values with their leading activity, allocate the orientation of the individual on the methods of interaction with the environment, orientation of idealized images associating them with goal-setting. Value paradigm is formed depending on the conditions of social environment in which personality is included. It is grounded on the basis of knowledge, skills, abilities, inclinations, world perception, semantic units, targeting of the individual.
