Abstract
A theoretical and methodological aspect of professional development has been substantiated. A goal, objectives, principles of professional development has been defined and components of it have been singled out. The professional development has been presented in the continuous education of adults. The purpose of professional development is to ensure workers who have those quality characteristics that meet its objectives and strategies. The author identifies such tasks as the identification and support of the capable learning staff, the activation of potential employees, the establishment of reserve managers, the system service and qualification development and career planning. The sequence component of professional staff development has been built according to the task.
