Abstract

The article focuses on the problem of information analysis support for vocational schools management and the necessity of its prompt solution in information-oriented society. The author defines a notion “information analysis support for vocational schools management” as a combination of organizational, methodological, informational, and intellectual types of activity concerning collection, analysis, generalization, storing, use, and extension of information about different aspects of vocational schools functioning as an education system and an actor of education activity. Major aims and objectives of information analysis support for vocational schools management are established. At vocational schools, information analysis objectives are divided into five types, and the workers in the field of information analysis activity are divided into three groups among which vocational schools directors hold the leading place. The objectives are achieved through performing the system of informational and analytical tasks in vocational schools based on the intellectuality and complexity level and divided into five classes. The first class includes the simplest tasks containing fully formalized procedures which are easy for the executors to perform and require only time. The second class includes more complex tasks concerning making managerial decisions in the conditions of risk. The third class encompasses badly structuralized unknown and immeasurable tasks (quantitatively unranked). The fourth one contains decision making tasks in the conditions of conflict (e.g., the active rivals on the regional market of educational services should be considered). The fifth group deals with the most complex decision making tasks characterized with the lack of opportunity for the formalization due to the high level of uncertainty. The article proposes main levels of information analysis activity organization in the field of management: vocational school as a legal entity; inside the vocational school structure, and individual. It highlights the leading role of a director as the main actor of information analysis activity in a vocational school who organizes, directs, corrects, evaluates and uses its results in the own managerial activity. The article formulates contributory organizational and pedagogical, technical and technological conditions for implementation by the actors of information analysis activity of their information analysis function in the process of realization of positional competencies as directors, pedagogical staff etc.
