Abstract

In the article, the issues of the junior schoolchildren’s literary development under the context of the competence-based approach are researched. An analysis was conducted on the content of the key definitions in the studied topic and the basic curriculum in the aspect of the schoolchildren’s literary development on the basis of the fictional texts. The corresponding academic outcomes of the schoolchildren before the graduation from the primary school were defined and structured.
