Abstract

There are indicated main directions of updating the variable component of the profile biological education. These include the content formation on the basis of criterion-oriented approach, the implementation of project and research approaches in teaching as a condition for the development of subject and key competencies, as well as the socio-pedagogical functions of the variable component.
