Abstract

This article presents the test technologies of geographical competency assessment of pupils that are in current geography textbooks for grade 6 recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for use in secondary schools in the 2014/2015 academic year. Their quantitative and qualitative analyses of the types and kinds and for cognitive levels are submitted as well the examples of the test items with their brief description. It was found out that in current geography textbooks for 6 classes the test technologies for geographical competence evaluating of pupils are put in by open test tasks of “applying” level in an amount of from 20% to 25% out of total test items in textbook. There are geographical tasks and objective as to plans and maps among these tasks. The article presents the test technologies as to geographical assessment of pupils’ competencies that presented in practice works of existing geography textbooks for class 6 as well their quantitative and qualitative analysis and examples are provided.
