Abstract

A basic skill for elementary school pupils is the ability to read with comprehension. Children's different capabilities, uneven access to full-time or distinction (mixed) education, the degree of psychological stress in the conditions of war led to a large gap in their mastery of this skill. Part of the pupils who did not have a sufficient level of formation of reading skills as a result of actual difficulties during reading moved from a sufficient and average level of educational achievements to elementary. Pupils who had a sufficient and high level also did not always have the opportunity to read regularly and develop due to relocations or critical life situations. Therefore, the most important task of a primary school teacher is to restore the ability to read with understanding and the complex of reading and information skills of pupils, which are the main plane for the implementation of individual programs and trajectories of the child's development. Moreover, the practice of the previous decades, unfortunately, showed the negative consequences of the "non-reading generation" that arose at the end of the digital age, and the realities of the war deepened the problem. The importance of the implementation of the program and the technology of formation of reading (informational) competence as a basis for the development of a child's individuality and compensation for his educational losses in the conditions of war is obvious.
