The article examines the key competence of students in the field of natural sciences, engineering and technology as the ability and willingness of students to apply the appropriate set of scientific knowledge and methodologies: to explain the natural world and understand its integrity; identifying problems of natural content and finding ways to solve them based on the acquired experience of cognitive activity and research activity skills; an emotional and valuable attitude towards nature and its knowledge for a successful life in a socio-natural environment;use of the assets of science, technical and technological achievements for well-being, preservation of health, careful attitude to the environment and civilized interaction with it; understanding the changes caused by human activity and the responsible attitude as a citizen for the consequences of this activity.
