Abstract

The thesis of the report presented by V. O. Vasiutynskyi at the International Scientific online Conference "Thirteenth Siveryanski Social-Psychological Readings" on November 25, 2022 (Chernihiv) analyzes how Ukrainian students evaluate the effectiveness of the actions of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the war compared with other participants of public and political life, and how their evaluations are related to the value-motivational tendencies of civic self-determination of student youth. The online survey of 2,202 students of 35 higher education institutions from different regions of Ukraine conducted at the end of April – beginning of May 2022 is briefly described, the identified correlations, factors and other results are given and interpreted. It is shown that the assessment of the subjects of internal and external socio-political processes in wartime conditions is quite expressive and significantly differentiates the positions of the respondents. In the conditions of the aggravation of the Russian-Ukrainian military confrontation, civil self-determination is first of all embodied in the strengthening of its national and patriotic components. It is these components that determine to the greatest extent the attitude of students towards the main public and political subjects, including the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
