Abstract

It is revealed that the collections of PISA tasks for the development of students’ reading literacy (Parts 1, 2 and 3) are an innovative result of the work of teachers at the in-service training courses held at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine in 2021-2023. The courses were conducted within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module “European Teaching Excellence for Students’ Better Performance” (620287-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE). The tasks contained in the collections were developed on the basis of the PISA-2018 trial test items. It is concluded that PISA-formatted collections of tasks for the development of students’ reading literacy (Parts 1, 2 and 3) are a contribution to further improving the quality of national education, its integration into the European educational space, and synchronisation with international standards. They are focused on the development of reading literacy of the Ukrainian schoolchildren; take into account the achievements of the European leading countries in the PISA study; are designed to form European integration awareness, European values of students, and develop patriotism.
