Abstract

Based on the analysis of scientific sources and own experimental research, attention is focused on the reader's need to navigate media information, be ready and be able to resist aggressive manipulative influences through the text. Currently, the development of methods for the psychological study of the peculiarities of the reader's perception of various types of texts, in order to help him benefit from the consumed textual information, to gain or restore psychological balance in times of military aggression, is currently relevant. The results of using the author's methodology for studying the modern reader's attitude to media texts, namely to dialogic and manipulative ones, are considered. The given data prove the relevance of empirical research, because they provide psychologists with information about the peculiarities of the perception of texts that readers receive from printed media and Internet sites, form guidelines for helping a person resist manipulative media influences, and provide a sense of psychological safety and security. Knowledge of the characteristics of the reader's attitude to the text gives the psychologist the tools to activate the subjective activity of a person, motivate him to be critical, the need to take personal responsibility for the consumption of information, motivation to develop himself as a responsible, conscious reader. The results of using the author's projective method of studying the attitude of modern students of the I-II courses of one of the humanitarian higher education institutions of Kyiv (a total of 30 people aged 18-19) were considered. Some aspects of the analysis of drawings, the generalization of the interviewees' interpretations of their depictions of manipulative and dialogic texts are presented. The attitude to media texts based on cognitive, emotional and behavioral components is considered. The data of the study show that the interviewed student-readers in general more or less distinguish texts of dialogic or manipulative orientation and react to them in a certain way, feel their influence on their own feelings and behavior. But sometimes the interviewees admit that it is difficult to recognize the manipulation and therefore they need professional help. The presented pictorial technique "Dialogic and manipulative text with mass media: my attitude" passed its initial testing on older citizens, as described in the author's previous publications. Further validation of the drawing test, achieving its reliability, is foreseen.
