Abstract
The article deals with the reasons of migration of the Ukrainians to the North-American continent at the end of ХІХ th - the beginning of ХХ the centuries. The author роіntеd out and revealed the main reasons of migration: over-population of the territory, absence of reforms in agriculture; low level of urbanization; denationalization of Ukrainian population; anxiety for children’s future; the desire of young people to avoid military service.
