Abstract

The article updates a scientific problem of forming the criterion basis of evaluation of modern physics textbook. A textbook is determined as a didactic system and pedagogical phenomenon is the powerful factor of influence on quality of physical education, reflects the main trends of its content and accumulates modern educational technologies. Approaches for which qualitative physics textbook is not only the most fully implement the content of education, but also meet social needs and expectations of students, teachers and parents. It is defined among procedures of providing of quality of textbook its assessment on the existing criterion basis. Such terms of providing of quality of school textbook are analyzed, as an openness of the procedure of evaluation, forming of professional expert environment, strengthening of the role of teachers in the selection of textbook. Determined that the feature of physics textbook evaluation criteria should be the guidance on the assessment of the manuscript as a whole didactic system that achieves the goals of school physical education, formation and development of both subject and key competences of secondary school students. The modern physics textbook, created on the basis of competence approach, is positioned as the leading means mastering the basic components of learning content: experience of cognitive activity, experience of realization of the known methods of activity, experience of creative activity and experience of the emotionally-valued relations (personality orientations). The features of the development of criteria for textbooks in various stages of secondary education are examined and the perspective directions of this process are defined. The attention is focused on the feasibility of developing skillfully oriented new generation of textbooks that ensure embodiment of variability, consistency of content of educational material with the requirements of state educational standards and curriculum, and implementing activity-competency approach in teaching subjects.
