Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation and prospective development of a valuable personality on the example of the biographies of outstanding personalities of domestic and world science in the process of studying subjects of the natural and mathematical direction united by the acronym STEAM. The specificity of STEAM education, which needs to be implemented in a specific national culture, has been clarified. The naturalness and necessity of the value context in the process of mastering natural sciences, technology, engineering, art and mathematics is substantiated. In the article, the author provides a brief description of the life of outstanding figures of the Ukrainian scientific elite in the mentioned fields. The author excavates the worldview of these people, their value priorities and significant achievements for humanity. Examples of tasks are given.
