Abstract

The article analyzes foreign sources on the problem of personal potential of gifted young children as a subject of psychological research. The authors considered the conceptual positions of such foreign scientists as B. Clark, S. Laujin, M. Howard-Hamilton, F. Farral, F. Bennett, F. Gagnier, R. Subotnik, D. Morisano, L. Conrad, Abu Hamur Bashir; Al-Hmuz Hanan, S. Butterham, L. Henderson, F. Warrell, D. Gallagher, R. Olenchak, P. Olszewski-Kubilius, M. Neuhart, P. Klinkenboard, S. Ziegler, O. Heller, L. Watters, J. Dismann, M. Carmel, and others. In foreign studies, we refer to the provisions of the American National Association of Gifted Children (giftedness is acquired with educational and social factors). According to the program of development of academic talents of the University of California at Berkeley, an important component is the disclosure of personal potential. The program includes summer extra and accelerated classes for children from kindergarten to 11th grade. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill deals with giftedness and personal development in children of all walks of life. With the right environment and education, the number of talented young people and adults can be increased. The Center for Educational Policy for the Gifted named after Esther Katz Rosen at the APA provides students of all walks of life with equal access to the peaks of talent development and its implementation in various European educational institutions. Yale University researchers are exploring the personal potential of students with disabilities. The Texas Association of Gifted and Talented Young Children considered setting goals and implementing them in overcoming psychological barriers. Thus, in contrast to the provision of educational services and the disclosure of personal potential of gifted young children in Ukraine, abroad much more attention is paid to children with disabilities and talented children from low-income families, much attention is paid to gifted in various spheres of life.
