Abstract

Novohorodska M.M. Pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment. – Qualifying scientific work (manuscript). Dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 011 Educational and Pedagogical Sciences. ‒ Institute of Gifted Child of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2022. A pedagogical study of pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment was carried out in the PhD thesis. The necessity of solving the scientific problem of creating a developing environment for gifted teenagers and their peers is analyzed; the works and sources of world researchers on this issue are analyzed, the state of research of this issue in pedagogical sources is clarified; the conceptual qualities of a gifted person were revealed; a typology of adolescent addiction to the virtual environment was developed; the contribution of world scientists working in line with this issue is highlighted; the key concepts of the study: "pedagogical means", "addiction", "virtual environment", "gifted teenagers" were clarified and substantiated. It has been established that the virtual environment as a whole is a certain product of the transformation of the modern information society. It has been proved that along with all the possibilities of the virtual environment, the prevention and correction of addiction of gifted adolescents is the most in demand. It was revealed that addiction to the virtual environment is a pathological passion of a person to spend time on their favorite gadgets, smartphones, computers, which can manifest itself in several forms. It has been proved that in the context of total internalization, the issue of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment is very acute, given the global technological progress of society, preventive measures are needed to constructively use the virtual world. The phenomenon of emergence and formation of addiction to the virtual environment is investigated. Examples of prevention and correction of addiction to the virtual environment are given. The expediency of using such pedagogical means as communication, cognition, creative work, play, learning, elements of art therapy are proved. The relevance and analysis of the state of development of the problem of studying pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment necessitated the solution of this problem. The number of adolescents destructively using the virtual environment, including the Internet, is constantly (daily) growing. The analysis of theoretical and methodological sources on the issues under study revealed the lack of a unified point of view of researchers on the propensity to develop addiction in gifted adolescents and their peers. It is proved that a thorough study and disclosure of the essence of pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment is of great theoretical and practical importance. The above aspects led to the choice of the topic of the dissertation research "Pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment." Pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment are theoretically substantiated and empirically studied. A theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem of prevention and correction of adolescents' addiction to the virtual environment was carried out; the peculiarities of the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment have been empirically studied; the pedagogical means of prevention and correction of addiction to the virtual environment were identified and described; a program was developed for the prevention and correction of addiction to the virtual environment on the basis of the identified pedagogical means; the effectiveness of the developed program for the prevention and correction of addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment was tested. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was made up of scientific works on the study of giftedness (M. S. Halchenko, V. V. Kamyshin, A. V. Malinoshevska, V. M. Madzigon, I. S. Voloshchuk and others), on addictology (V. D. Mendelevich), from the features of psychological addiction (E. V. Melnik, M. G. Ryabova); computer addiction (T. Yu. Bolbot, K. V. Aimedov, K. Kerdellan, V. M. Bondarovska and others); the danger of abuse of the Internet network (O. V. Kaminska, O. E. Voiskunsky, S. K. Akimov); formation and manifestations of Internet addiction (L.A. Perezhegin, K. V. Boyarova); the consequences of Internet addiction for the individual (G. I. Ivanyuk, L. I. Gumenyuk, A. L. Girchenko, D. G. Rybaltovich and others); construction and organization of psychological and pedagogical correctional programs (T. S. Yatsenko, I. V. Vachkov, S. I. Makshanov). Methods were used to achieve the goals and implement the tasks, the following research: theoretical ‒ analysis of philosophical, pedagogical and psychological literature to clarify the essence of the key concepts of the study; comparison, classification and generalization of theoretical and empirical data to identify criteria and find pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents on the virtual environment; empirical ‒ diagnostic (questionnaires, peer review, interviews, testing) to form an experimental sample of gifted adolescents and identify their level of addiction to the virtual environment; experimental (stating, forming and final stages of the experiment) to test the effectiveness of reasonable pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment; statistical ‒ methods of mathematical statistics for quantitative and qualitative analysis of experimental data, determining the reliability of the results obtained. Experimental work was carried out on the basis of an educational institution ‒ general education secondary specialized education No 193 of the Podolsky district of Kyiv and on the basis of a specialized school of I-III levels No. 307 with in-depth study of natural sciences of the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, on the basis of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The experiment covered three educational institutions of different levels, questionnaires were filled out and 369 students were interviewed. The scientific novelty of the research results obtained differs significantly from the assets known in the scientific information space, and is consistently and systematically traced in the dissertation research, in particular: new provisions have been developed: a) the success motivation factor is an effective pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents on the virtual environment; b) using of elements of art therapy is an effective pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents on the virtual environment; first: ‒ the actual scientific and applied problem of correcting the state of addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment was solved using pedagogical tools; ‒ the idea of the power of the success motivation factor as a means of correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment is systematically and holistically disclosed; ‒ the level of addiction of gifted teenagers to the virtual environment has been reduced; ‒ types of addiction of gifted adolescents and their peers have been developed; ‒ the conceptual qualities of the artistically gifted personality of a teenager were established and substantiated; ‒ types of artistic giftedness of the personality of adolescents have been developed; ‒ specific features of virtual addict teenagers were revealed in connection with their type of motivation; ‒ new knowledge was obtained about the peculiarities of the use of pedagogical tools and elements of art therapy as preventive tools for the prevention and correction of the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment; ‒ the effective pedagogical tools were identified and applied that contribute to the prevention and correction of addiction on different personality types of gifted adolescents; ‒ methodological approaches and signs of Internet-addicted behavior were improved; ‒ knowledge about the psychological characteristics of gifted adolescents, their characteristics, psychological portrait and variations of addictions was improved; ‒ scientific ideas about "pedagogical means" and "elements of art therapy" as components of preventive measures for the prevention and correction of gifted adolescents' addiction on the virtual environment were improved. The content of the concepts of "pedagogical means", "prevention", "correction", "virtual environment", "gifted teenagers", "addiction on the virtual environment" were deepened and refined; ‒ study of the psychological characteristics of the addiction behavior of gifted adolescents gained further development; ‒ ideas of a student-centered approach to each student in the learning process in the system of general secondary education gained further development; ‒ understanding of the criteria for addiction to the virtual environment gained further development; ‒ the influence and interrelationship of individual psychological and microsocial factors on the formation of addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment in the context of family and school education gained further development. A program has been developed and implemented to prevent and correct the addiction of gifted adolescents on the virtual environment, taking into account their age characteristics and individual psychological factors. It has been established that the autonomy of the personality of a teenager and work on the prevention or elimination of stressors prevent the emergence of addiction on the virtual environment. It has been established that motivation is the basis of any human activity. The use of various pedagogical means of preventing and correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents to the virtual environment contributed to an increase in the motivation to achieve success and avoid failures. It has been proven that the motivation for success is a powerful factor in correcting the addiction of gifted adolescents on the virtual environment. The practical significance of the obtained scientific results lies in the determination of pedagogical means, psychological characteristics, the dynamics of mental processes and the potential of gifted adolescents with different levels of addiction to the virtual environment. A program has been developed to prevent and correct the addiction of gifted teenagers on the virtual environment. These scientific results can be applied in the psychological and pedagogical practice of preventive and correctional and educational work not only in institutions of secondary education, but also in out-of-school educational institutions. The results of the study were introduced into the educational process: specialized school No 193 with in-depth study of the Ukrainian language and literature of the Podolsky district of Kyiv (certificate N 408 dated 03/11/2021); National Center "Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" (certificate N 172/1.1/2-420 dated 02.07.2021). The main provisions and results of the study were presented in reports and messages at scientific and scientific-practical conferences of various levels: international ‒ "Gifted children - the treasure of the nation" (Kyiv, 2020); “Gifted children are the treasure of the nation” (Kyiv, 2021); "Educational challenges and research ‒ interdisciplinary context" (Kyiv, 2021); all-Ukrainian ‒ "Support and support for gifted students in the modern information space" (Kyiv, 2020); "Support and maintenance of professional self-determination of gifted students in the modern information and educational space" (Kyiv, 2021); "Designing the development and psychological and pedagogical support of a gifted personality" (Kyiv, 2021); "Development of a gifted personality: global and domestic contexts" (Kyiv, 2021); "Giftedness: diagnostic methods and specifics of monitoring" (Kyiv, 2022). The results of the study were discussed at meetings of the Department of Innovative Technologies in the Development of Giftedness, annual reporting scientific conferences of the Institute of Gifted Child of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (2018-2022). The main results of the dissertation research are presented in 5 (sole) publications, of which 1 reflect the main scientific results, 2 are of an approbation nature, 2 additionally reflects the scientific results of the dissertation. The dissertation consists of the introduction of three sections of the main part, divided into subsections, conclusions to the sections, conclusions to the work and a list of sources used (213 titles, 67 of them in foreign language), applications on 21 pages. The total volume of the dissertation is 225 pages, the main content of the dissertation is presented on 183 pages.
