Abstract
The competent approach, according to the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education, is the leading one at this stage of the development of educational systems in Ukraine. It is developed, in particular, in the materials of the Program for International Student Assessment, PISA. To teach science on a competency basis, teachers need to be taught the basics of creating competence-oriented tasks on their own, in accordance with the profession, educational needs and requests of students, etc. One of these projects is the Program of Advanced Training of Science Teachers within the Jean Monnet Module, which has been held for the second year in a row at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
