Abstract

Teaching the Ukrainian language should be based on the treasures of national spirituality, which determines the actualization of the socio-cultural line in teaching vocabulary and phraseology to primary school students. It is advisable to consider a literary work as a source of socio-cultural development of the student's personality. From literature, children learn about the moral, ethical, and spiritual values of past generations and their contemporaries; about the attitude of the people to their motherland; about the relationship of the people and religion, of the person and society; about family and everyday life; about national customs, rituals, etc.
