Abstract
The research is devoted to innovations in modern secondary education, in particular to key competencies. Relevant knowledge, skills, values that students must master in order to respond effectively to modern world challenges are identified. It is noted that the key competencies outlined in the European Reference Framework (2018) are developed in the lifelong learning process.
