Abstract

In the article, the author draws attention to topical issues related to the importance of vocabulary work of high school students in Ukrainian language lessons in the context of the "Concept of the New Ukrainian School". The analysis of the last scientific researches, the state regulatory documents on a research problem is carried out. It is determined that the component of vocabulary work is the process of enrichment of lexical stock and activation of new words in the speech of students of 10-11 grades.Attention is focused on the importance of taking into account the text-centric approach, the expediency of developing the need to enrich speech throughout life. Methodical recommendations on vocabulary work of lyceum students by means of the textbook of the Ukrainian language are given. Theoretical positions are illustrated by examples of practical tasks.
