Abstract

In this article the free verse was characterized as a form of verse libre. By the example of B.Humenyuk was considered using of this poem line in the modern art practice. At first, in the article on the example of folk, liturgical and author poetry of various ages was implemented a retrospective review of free verse formation as a genre and a form of poem. Then, it was done the analysis of individual works from the collection "Poems from the War" (2015) of modern Ukrainian author, the participant of military conflict between Russia and Ukraine at Donbas (2014-2016), Borys Humenyuk. By the example of works "When You Clean the Weapon" and "The Testament" and by considering the genre and stylistic features of poetry was proved that the poet Borys Humenyuk enjoys the form of classical free verse. The use of non-traditional poem form is motivated by the poet request to unexpectedly new theme of war, which suddenly burst into the real life of Ukrainian. Singularity of "Humenyuk free verse" is defined by the dominating in his works spoken language, lack of high aesthetic vivid characters and metaphors, interspersing the poetic speech by details that touch the most hard heart. B. Humenyuk’s free verse has lyric-epic character, it combines two kinds of literature and two genres - epic, story and poetry, poem. In general poems are characterized by pathos of epic pensive tranquility, as the fate of every real man – is a fate of male-warrior, war God, and no matter how young he is and in what century this war starts.
