Abstract

Important changes and challenges in the reading activity of younger students under the influence of information technology development are revealed. Emphasis is placed on the formation of meaningful reading technologies for students; increasing attention to the formation of a special kind of literacy in children - reading for pleasure, for a sense of personal growth, the joy of communication with other people; on the issues of professional training of teachers in mastering these technologies.
