Abstract

The article presents results of a study of a component approach to competence-oriented teaching of biology to pupils of the eighth form. The author focuses on the development of competence-oriented methods of teaching human biology, taking into account the component approach to the formation of content and its implementation. The article states that the selection of the three-component structure of competences (knowledge, activity and value) in the methodology allows one to aim learning activity of pupils at its result more specifically. The author also reveals the use of a component approach to planning of tests used while identifying learning outcomes of students.
