Abstract

The article defines the concept o f the reference group, examines its functions, types and effects on the socialization o f the individual. The concept of identification in the reference groups is disclosed. It is ascertained how the selection o f the reference group by migrant children causes their maladaptation. It is presented how changing the reference group can improve the process o f adaptation o f forced displaced children in the new community.
