Abstract
The article analyzes the law of Ukraine in the subject of the rights of Deaf as a linguistic community in education policy. Ukrainian legislation in context of development the education of the deaf declares the rights with regard to providing equal access to education in educational institutions of I – IV accreditation levels (Laws of Ukraine, the regulations, the President’s decrees, the resolutions of Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Education’s orders). Though, interests of deaf people in the legislative base are presented in two ways. It means their rights and responsibilities enshrined in the general and special laws. Fundamentally important is adoption of the Law «On Higher Education». It provides for the development of standards of educational activities for every level of higher education within the limits of each specialty with the need to create conditions for deaf people. The context involves such changes as free provision of information for training in accessible ways, including using the Ukrainian sign language, organization of educational and rehabilitation support and involvement of experts from a number of deaf persons as members of a linguistic community and native speaker.
