Abstract

Electronic social networks are already becoming rivals in the media and the largest western media outlets are working out technologies for combining professional online publications and social networks. However, in our opinion, the analysis of psychological and pedagogical and scientific sources, as well as generalization of various scientific and theoretical approaches to determining the level of media literacy, media education and media awareness of senior pupils on the issues of safe and responsible use of service tools of social networks in educational activities, prove the need to resolve issues on the formation of media competency of senior pupils, as one of the important components of the media culture of the individual.
