Abstract

The article deals with the most common learning environment that is used for organizing the learning process in higher technical educational institutions in the USA. The article defined basic functions of learning management system, these schemes appearance learning environments in the world of education, defined main directions, which can be used by educational environment in the process of organization and management studies. Field description of the system used in the process of organizing and supporting training in technical colleges of the United States, including Moodle, Sakai, Desire2Learn, WebCT, Blackboard; considered their embedded applications; described instrumental base; specified features and capabilities of these systems, their advantages and disadvantages.
