Abstract
The article describes processes of European integration of Ukrainian education and academic sectors, which correspond to the strategic goals of the Ukrainian state and society related to full integration into the European Union and creation of a unified political and value space in the new Europe through a democratic consensus of Ukraine’s political elites. The author stresses that the «European idea», expressed in Ukraine’s national goal of entering the European Union, continues to increasingly occupy thoughts of the Ukrainian society. It speeds up, primarily, the development of the civil society. In certain Ukrainian regions, for instance in Western Ukraine, the level of support to EU integration is even higher than in our neighboring countries that have already become members of this community of nations. The author analyzes existing legislation and regulations as well as barriers to transferring Ukraine’s vocational education to European standards. The article identifies priority areas for the development of vocational education in Ukraine and key factors influencing the global education environment, among which are internationalization of training programs, teaching, learning and research; institutional agreements; mobility of teachers and students; various forms of cooperation etc.
