Abstract

The essence of civil education in the global (European directives) and local (primary education departments of Patras University in Greece) dimensions has been determined. The extent to which the specified institution of higher education adjusts, meets the requirements of the current social reality and European directives and is responsible for future teachers’ training has been defined. European issues which are especially important for further discussions of scientists and practitioners have been characterized.
