Abstract

Information management considered young scientist as a component of its subject-specific competencies. Posted handles information management, including the ability to identify, access, analyze and combine information on the current state and trends of the global and national education systems from various sources (electronic, written, archival, oral), documents and texts (including media texts) to solving actual educational objectives, creating the information critical to an informed scientific research; ability to work with modern bibliographic and abstract databases, Scientometrics platforms. Scientometric base is presented as a platform of scientific deposits, processing lists cited literature and calculates certain quantitative indicators on which to analyze the influence / credibility of publications, organizations and researchers. Served comparative characteristics biggest scientometric databases and their indicators (bibliometric platform Web of Science, Scopus). Citation index is considered as one of the most effective indicators of global scientific information (h-index or Hirsch index, impact factor).
