Abstract
The curriculum "Design and Technologies. Grades 5–6" for general secondary education institutions is aimed at developing students' project-technological and interdisciplinary competencies, as well as fostering design thinking based on the STEAM approach with a strengthened information and digital component. The content covers five topics: traditional technologies of decorative and applied arts and modern ethnic design; implementing a concept in design activities; product manufacturing technologies; ecological design and modern technologies; and self-organization of modern daily life. For grades 5 and 6, expected learning outcomes, proposed content, and types of educational activities are defined. The curriculum provides for the search and analysis of information, ideation, sketching, prototyping, constructing, testing, and improving products. Attention is paid to occupational safety, rational use of materials, cooperation, formative assessment, and the individualization and inclusivity of learning. The curriculum is addressed to teachers of the subject "Design and Technologies," methodologists, and developers of educational and methodological support.
