Abstract

The abstract substantiates the use of modeling to develop research competence in primary school students within the NUS framework. Three levels of modeling—object-based, graphic, and symbolic—and a five-step algorithm of research activity are presented. It is shown that modeling facilitates the transition from passive learning to active discovery and a deeper understanding of mathematical principles.
