Abstract

The presentation examines the experience of cooperation between the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine and the National Historical and Memorial Preserve “Bykivnia Graves” in researching and commemorating the biographies of repressed Ukrainian educators. It explores the relationship between pedagogical biography studies and memorialization as complementary approaches to restoring the names and life stories of teachers, scholars, and organizers of Ukrainian schooling to the history of education and collective memory. Drawing on the documentary exhibition The Interrupted Lesson, memorial events, an intellectual discussion, and the use of museum sources, the presentation identifies the key components of interinstitutional collaboration: biographical reconstruction, comprehensive source analysis, museum interpretation, and memorial representation. It also outlines prospects for compiling a corpus of pedagogical biographies of the victims of the Bykivnia crimes as a basis for future research, exhibition, and publishing projects.
