Abstract

The article studies the educational service in modern economic science, which is considered as a complex multidimensional economic category that combines the features of a public good, a quasi-public resource and a specific market product. It is established that its key feature is that it does not have a material expression, but forms a long-term economic and social effect through the accumulation of human capital, which is the basis for the development of the knowledge economy. The economic essence of the educational service is highlighted, which is manifested through its ability to transform investments in education into human capital, which directly affects labor productivity, the innovativeness of the economy and the level of competitiveness of the state. It is proved that the educational service is a complex economic category that functions in the system of socio-economic relations as a mechanism for ensuring economic development and social stability of the state.
