Abstract

The presentation examines the transformation of the educational mission of the contemporary museum—from transmitting ready-made knowledge to creating conditions for questioning, dialogue, interpretation, and independent reflection on museum objects. It argues that interactivity is determined not by the number of digital or physical actions performed by a visitor, but by the level of their intellectual engagement. The model of museum interaction “object → question → dialogue → interpretation → meaningful knowledge” is proposed, in which the museum object becomes the starting point of the learning process rather than the endpoint of a narrative. Using examples of a textbook and a pedagogical biography, the presentation demonstrates the difference between acquiring information about an object and exploring it through questions. Particular attention is paid to the potential of digital content as a space for cognitive interaction: posing questions, making comparisons, identifying contradictions, commenting, and independently interpreting sources. Three museum models are presented—“museum of knowledge,” “museum of dialogue,” and “museum of questions”—highlighting differences in the nature of interaction between the museum and its visitors.
