Abstract

The article examines the retrospective development of pedagogical folkloristics in Ukraine from the second half of the nineteenth century to the first quarter of the twenty-first century. It reveals the interdisciplinary nature of folkloristics and its pedagogical potential in the professional training of future specialists. The scholarly and pedagogical legacy of M. Maksymovych, M. Dashkevych, O. Potebnia, M. Sumtsov, and F. Kolessa is analyzed, with particular attention to their contribution to establishing educational traditions of folklore studies. The importance of folkloristic ideas and valuable educational practices for strengthening national and cultural identity in contemporary Ukrainian education is emphasized.
