Abstract

The presentation addresses the актуal issue of updating the national- cultural component of contemporary teacher education in Ukraine in the context of war and post-war recovery. The essence of the national-cultural component as a system-forming element of the professional training of future teachers is revealed. It encompasses knowledge, values, traditions, linguistic and cultural practices, historical experience, and the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people. Based on an analysis of regulatory and legal documents, educational programmes, and the results of a survey of teachers from higher and professional pre-higher education institutions, the key trends in its актуalization are identified, including regulatory frameworks, the expansion of national-cultural disciplines, interdisciplinarity, a personological approach, and consideration of the challenges posed by the war. Particular attention is paid to fostering national identity, civic resilience, cultural memory, and the linguistic and cultural competence of future teachers, as well as to counteracting information and cultural aggression. Recommendations are proposed at the state, institutional, and professional-pedagogical levels for further development and content renewal of the national-cultural component of teacher education.
