Abstract

Dreams can serve as a source of imagery used in art therapy. One of the focal points we consider—among others—is the symbolism found in Ukrainian culture. The tradition of dream interpretation in Ukraine remains relatively little-known, largely because, during the period when interest in this subject was actively growing (late 19th to early 20th centuries), Ukrainian lands were under the influence of two empires. Nevertheless, folklore studies regarding traditional dream interpretation did exist; notably, records were published by P. Chubynskyi, P. Kulish, and V. Myloradovych.
