Abstract

This handbook is dedicated to the theoretical and practical foundations of creating and using FAIR data in the field of educational sciences. It examines the FAIR principles—findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of data—as well as the types of educational research data, their lifecycle, and the specifics of managing them. It addresses issues related to the standardization of FAIR data, the development of data management plans (DMPs), and the selection of formats and digital services for storing, accessing, licensing, and publishing data. Special attention is given to personal data protection, ethical and legal aspects, the use of repositories, and the capabilities of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The guide provides practical guidelines for searching, accessing, integrating, analyzing, and reusing FAIR data in educational research, particularly through the use of modern digital technologies and educational analytics tools. Examples are provided of how FAIR data can be used in surveys, psychological and pedagogical assessments, educational analytics, and other types of research. The handbook is intended for researchers, academic and educational staff, graduate students, doctoral candidates, students, specialists at research institutions and higher education institutions, and anyone involved in the organization, storage, publication, analysis, and reuse of research data in the field of educational sciences.
