Abstract

This textbook has been created in accordance with the State Standard of Basic General Secondary Education and the model curriculum in history (authors: O. Pometun, T. Remekh, Yu. Maliienko, P. Moroz). The learning material will help students form a clear understanding of medieval history, work creatively, and determine their own attitude toward historical events and figures. The textbook's methodological apparatus is built on the principles of the competency-based approach, which allows teachers to differentiate their work with students, provides for students' independent research activity, and promotes the development of historical thinking and of schoolchildren's key and subject-specific competencies.
