Abstract

The article examines the 125-year history of the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine, from the approval of the “Regulations on the Pedagogical Museum under the Administration of the Kyiv Educational District” on 23 August 1901 to the museum’s contemporary activities. The main periods of the museum’s establishment, functioning, liquidation and revival are traced, with particular attention to its role in the development of pedagogical education and science and in preserving and interpreting the historical and pedagogical heritage. The article highlights the museum’s distinctive character as a multifunctional educational institution, originally established to support teachers’ professional practice and contribute to the production of pedagogical knowledge. The transformation of museum activities is examined, from collecting and displaying pedagogical objects to their scholarly interpretation, work with pedagogical biography, and the use of digital communication formats. Particular emphasis is placed on the continuity of the museum’s principal mission: to preserve, research and interpret pedagogical experience and make it accessible to future generations.
