Abstract

The article substantiates the theoretical and methodological foundations of implementing an andragogical approach to the professional development of academic staff at higher military educational institutions (HMEIs) within non-formal and informal education. The study addresses the urgent need to transform faculty development systems in response to wartime challenges, the integration of real-world combat experience, and alignment with NATO member-state standards. The essence of academic staff professional development in military higher education is defined as a continuous, multifaceted process of enhancing specialized, pedagogical, digital, leadership, and psychological competencies. Based on a systemic analysis, multi-tiered practical recommendations are proposed: departmental level (institutionalization of non-formal learning outcomes, international mobility, military-professional revitalization through field internships); institutional/HMEI level (transition of methodological services to consultative support, implementation of self-assessment tools, interactive workshops, and personalized learning trajectories); and individual level (instructional design mastery, advanced digital competence, psychological self-regulation, and structured professional reflection).
