Abstract

A comprehensive political and psychological analysis of the process of formation and transformation of modern political thinking in Ukraine under the conditions of acute socio-political shifts and external threats is carried out. It is substantiated that the success of state modernization and reforms depends not only on rational economic or financial factors, but also on the value-semantic dimension, mental characteristics, psychological attitudes, and the level of public trust in social institutions. Based on sociological data, the dynamics of public fears and phobias is investigated, demonstrating a shift from an individual-biological to a collective-social character under the influence of military aggression, which simultaneously acted as a powerful mobilizing and consolidating force for the nation. Particular attention in the study is paid to the phenomenon of political myth-making. The socio-cultural protective function of a positive state "myth" (specifically the "European myth" and the concept of "civil society") is proven to ensure a worldview consensus of different groups, construct a new political reality, and level the consequences of social anomie. Three levels of political cognition are highlighted: political-ontological, socialization, and functional levels. The didactic and age aspects of the development of political representations in youth are investigated, and the role of media content, which often destructively affects the everyday thinking of adults due to the dominance of entertainment and criminal formats, is analyzed. A system of practical measures for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and other relevant departments is substantiated, aimed at harmonizing curricula and developing civic competences. It is concluded that building a dialogue between the authorities and society, implementing the national memory policy, and increasing political culture are basic prerequisites for the stable civilizational progress of the state.
