Abstract

A comprehensive political and geoeconomic analysis of the peculiarities of the transformation of the modern system of international relations under the conditions of the formation of a unipolar model of the world order is carried out. Globalization is explored as a multidimensional objective process that determines the transnational and informational phases of human development, while simultaneously acting as an instrument for ensuring US dominance and implementing neoliberal recipes. Special attention is paid to the deconstruction of the system of political myths and stereotypes in the mass consciousness and among national elites. The myths about the absolute novelty of globalization, its total inevitability, as well as the illusion of a "happy globalized humanity" capable of avoiding cataclysms through intellect and information technologies are refuted. Based on the analysis of the consequences of the 2008 global economic crisis and the activities of global protest movements, the contradictory nature of the modern model of the world order, which is increasingly turning into a "new world disorder" and increasing inequality between global "centers" and the "periphery", is proved. In the context of these global shifts, the geopolitical and geoeconomic status of Ukraine is determined. The internal and external factors that cause the long-standing inconsistency and mosaic nature of Ukrainian state-building are analyzed. The historical policy of "multi-vectorness" and the "outstretched hand" strategy are critically assessed, proving their ineffectiveness for national interests. Key geoeconomic challenges are highlighted, including Ukraine's energy and technological dependence, the diversification of Russian gas transport routes, and the risk of the state turning into a deep global periphery. At the same time, it is substantiated that global turbulence opens new windows of opportunity for Ukraine, which require immediate rationalization and pragmatization of foreign policy, clear positioning in the "Ukraine–Russia–USA" triangle, and the rejection of romantic security expectations. The fundamental internal potential of the country for large-scale modernization is determined, based on its unique geographical location, agricultural and industrial resources, powerful human capital, and the society's demand for a consolidating "European myth" and democratic institutions based on the rule of law.
